Commissions

Commissions are the perfect way to have a truly unique piece of art to treasure. Each commission is created in partnership with you, and once completed is presented in a frame of your choice.

Although it's wonderful to have a picture of your choice (I have had many request for beloved pets or family portraits, for example), my journey has taken me quite clearly down a biblical route, and I would love to make sure that all my work is in line with that vision. I therefore currently only take on commissions with a biblical or faith inspired theme to keep me walking faithfully in the direction I feel called to. ​​

If we both feel the artwork commissioned could also be an encouragement to other people, I can offer a discounted price for the original piece if I am able to create prints of the artwork to distribute, but this is on a case by case basis and with the full agreement of the commissioning party.

The commissioning process is as follows:

Step 1 - Initial Consultation and Deposit

To start with, we'll work together using reference images, or your own images, as a guide for what I will create for you.

 

Some people like a straightforward drawing of an image (perhaps you have a photo you want turned into a drawing), other people have an idea or bible verse in their mind. If it's the latter, we will have a 20-30 minute conversation so I can understand what it is you'd like to visualise. ​

If you would like to go forward with the commission, I will require a 30% deposit at this stage.

Step 2 - Agree on Reference

I may need to either crop your image to frame the piece better, or use several reference images to build a picture of what your drawing will look like. Before I even think about picking up my charcoal, I'll need you to agree on my final composition, so you have a good idea of what I'm working towards.

Step 3 - Updates

I'll now purchase the materials, and get to work! I'll send you updates along the way if you like, to make sure you're happy with the progress.

Step 4 - Sign off and payment 

When I feel the artwork is finished, I will send over clear photographs and videos of the work including close ups to have your final sign off and make any final tweaks you might request. If you'd prefer to see your work in person, I am based in Cambridgeshire and am very happy to have visitors!

Once I have your sign off, I will request the final 70% of the payment.

Step 5 - Delivery

I am happy to either have the artwork delivered by courier, or depending on the size of the artwork and your proximity, it may also be an option for me to hand deliver your commissioned piece of artwork. ​
