'Still Waters'

This original A2 framed drawing was created over July to October 2026.

This piece of artwork draws inspiration from Psalm 23, but in essence, is to remind us that we're not alone on the paths we walk.

The looming forest in the background and the towering trees beside the figures speak to the unknown, or the darkness that we can feel surrounded or engulfed by, and yet, there is stillness and light to be found.

My hope is, as your eye moves over the artwork, you see new details in the leaves, the branches, the reflections in the water, and may even begin to imagine the conversations had by the two figures themselves.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
